MAGRATI, TRADING COMPANY LTD. Friends were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs» Blanche Cote., mother of Mrs. Archie Dudley, who passed away Saturday, September 30th at the age of 75 years. She was born in Fincher Creek and had spent all her life there. Survivors include her husband Albert Cote, two sons Leonard of Blairmore, Hector of Fincher Station; three daughters Mrs, Cecile Dudley of Magrath, Mrs. W. (Jeannette O'Brien of Pincher Creek, Mrs. H. (Anita) Kroetsch, of Heisler, Alberta,; 19 grand­children, 10 great grandchildren, two bro<- thers. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Michael1s Roman Catholic Church, Pincher Creek, Tuesday at 11 a.M celebrant, Cemeteryc ^r, and Mrs. Wren Holladay have as their guests her niece Miss Carol Atkins and friend Michael Dunn of Victoria, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. John Paulikaut have as their guests their son-in-law and daughter Wiltold and Lucy Iingertat of Etobicoke, Ontario. Mrs. Bertha Bennett and brother Mr. George Coleman have returned from a visit to Lewistown, Montana where they were guests of Mr, and Mrs, -art Weideman. Mrs. Norma ZoBell and daughters of Vauxhall were visitors during the weekend at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs, Norman Cook. Mrs. Elma Olsen of Hagensborg, B.C, visited with her brother-in-law and sister Mrr and Mrs. Lewis Stevenson. Mrs. Kathy Hamilton of Edmonton and Miss Mary Mescherjakow of Calgary were week­end visitors at the home of their mother Mrs, Maria Mescherjakow and family. Tom Wolsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wolsey of Wei 1 i.ng, left Friday for Salt Lake City, Utah where he entered the Mission Home in preparation for a Mission to be served in Northern California. Receiving guests with the bride and groom were he parents Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell, her sister Marcie and brother Robert, the groom's mother Mrs, ardith Bly of Magrath, his sister Miss Shelley Bly of Calgary, together with two of the bride's personal friends who were maid of honor and brides­maid,, A honeymoon was spent travelling up the West Coast following which they have taken up residence at 16072 Springdale St., ^pt- 209., Huntington Beach, Calif. 92&49> where both are employed, and will attend college in Buntington Beach, An interesting film "Something Beauti­ful for God" was shown at the Magrath United Church Hall Monday evening and sponsored by St-. Joseph's Catholic Women's League, Father L. Cassidy introduced the film which was about the work of Mother Theresa among the very poor and unloved of Calcutta. Previous to the showing of the film members of the C.W.L. met in the main hall for their regular monthly meeting while members of the United Church Women met in the Upper Hall for their monthly meeting, aft-erwhich they joined together to view the film and were co-hostesses at serving re­freshments which concluded the evening. Guests were present from Cardston, Raymond and Magrath, Harvesting is again underway following almost a three week delay by unseasonal weather» Some 4 to 6 inches of snow fell on Southern Alberta during that time. Chinook v,rinds during the weekend melted the snow and dried the unharvested grain fields en— abling machines to once more get underway, baking off a better than average crop. Mrs, Bernice Coleman was in charge of the event and was assisted with brunch preparations by Mesdames Mary Tanner and Ruth Hovey. Mrs. Vinnie Jensen was in charge of the attractive table decorations which were in a Fall motif. Opening prayer was offered by Mrs. Rose Hudson following which forty-four ladies enjoyed the delicious brunch. An entertaining program was presented which opened with community singing led by Mrs,. Vi Miller accompanied by Mrs. DeAnne Atwood - Mrs. Jolayne Robinson told a story; Mrs. Ann Murray and Mrs. De^nneAtwood rendered a vocal duet accompanied by Mrs. Marsha Ripley. Friends will be happy to hear that Douglas Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs, Reed Bennett of Bountiful, Utah, and formerly of Magrath, has been appointed bishop at u Buena Park, California*. Mr. and Mrs. Henning Anderson were recent visitors, guests of her parents Mr,, and Mrs. J. H. Bridge, brothers-in-law and sisters Mr. and Mrs. Pingree Tanner and Mr. and Mrs. Garth Coleman. They were enroute to their home in Salt Lake City from New Zealand. Dr. and Mrs. E. R. Poulsen of Leth­bridge visited with his brother Alex Poulsen who is a patient at the Magrath Municipal Hospital, before leaving for a six week vacation to Australia and New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mai have returned home from Pouce Coupe where they have spent the past couple of months visiting relatives. While there they attended the wedding of Mrs. Mai's niece, Miss Carrie Neuman, which took place Saturday, Septembe . 23rd and at which Mrs. Mai was matron of honor. A number of Magrath ladies left dur­ing the weekend for Salt Lake City, Utah to attend Relief Society Conference. Included were Mrs. Vinessa Hamilton., Mrs. Margaret Hindley and Mrs. Lillian Taylor.
