CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS We are sure everyone will wish to join us in expressing our e cere congratulations to Mr. Cliff Merkley who was the honored Head Table guest at' the annual banquet of the American Saddle Horse Association of Alberta. This event was held Saturday, October 24th in Red Deer. During the evening, Cliff was presented with a Life Membership in the Association. We were very happy to see in a recent issue of the Store News a progress report on rhe' Water and we say "Thank you". To date noting on Cable Vision. RE: C.N.I.B. DRIVE - conducted by the Lions Club.Our Blits Night of October 20th was not 100? successful, however every household and business place will be canvassed hope­fully before November 1st. From the more than 2Q0 letters sent to Rural Magrath and Spring Coulee, to date we have received only 14 replies so we issue a special appeal to you to pieape help us in this most worth­while cause. Council­man and Recreation Chairman Clark Dainard and Recreation Appointees Greg Strong and John Balderson were in attendance. It was proposed that Councilman- Dainard be put in charge of the Swimming Pool, Swim Club abd Parks; Greg Strong to be in charge of Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Curling and Soccer; John Balderson to be responsible for Hockey, Figure Skating, Raquetball and Out­door Ice Arena. . An Open House was held in the afternoon at the Drop In Center where Nathan and Shirley were congratulated by many guests.
