The Canadian Council of Hospital Accreditation has recently announced that the Ifegrath Municipal Hospital has been granted accreditation status. This has been the objective of the board and staff for the last four years when they had their initial inspection, It is difficult for a small hospital to gain accreditation, but the combined efforts of the medical staff and administrator, the nursing staff and the board have brought the local hospital up to the standards required by the Canadian Council on Hospital Accredit­ation o As the number of accredited hospitals is comparatively small, the members of the hospital district are justly proud of this recent achievement,, A Tupperware Shower honoring Starr Bondy Shanks was held Thursday, September 12th at the home of Mrs,, Beatrice Harker with the Misses Melaine Harker, Carol Wheeler, Janet Fletcher, Diane Alston and Fatsy Harker as hostesses0 The evening was spent playing games after which Starr opened "White Elephant" gifts from the Grade Xll girls0 Those present were the hostesses; Mesdames Gean Wheeler, Freda Fletcher, Prudence Poulsen, Margaret Hindley, Sharley Sheridan, Maude Ririe, Marjorie Balderson, Virginia Wilde, Margaret Ririe, Ruth Ri^e, Valerie Milner, Wilma Taylor, Juliadean Bondy and the Misses Jean Aldrich, Gloria Zimmerman, Maureen Godionton, Barbara Anderson, Vicki and Vonna Mi ~l 1 er. The marr-i age of Miss DeCaire and Mr, Johns is an event of September 28th, Mr, and Mrs, A, J, Sabey extend a cordial invitation to everyone to attend Open House on the occasion of their Golden Wedding at the home of Mro and Mrs. Lee Harker, 1731 - 16 Ave. Sr, Lethbridge, Sunday, September 29th from 3 to 7 P.M, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ehlert and son Robbie are visiting with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Ririe and Mr, and ’Mrs, Lawrence Ehlert before leaving for Ottawa where Bruce has accepted a position with the Defence Research Telecommunication Establishment. He recently graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, A visitor at a golf club paid his green fees and fixed up a match. At the first tee he took a wild swing and completely missed the ball. "By Georgei" he exclaimed, "lt;s a good thing I found out right at the start. A resident of Spring Coulee district for many years, William Wilton Wood, passed away Saturday in the Magrath Municipal Hosp­ital following a lengthy illness,, He was SO years of age. Bom in Nebraska in 1887 the late Mr. Wood came to Canada and the Spring Coulee area where he farmed until retiring in 1954» Survivors include his wife Geneva, one son Neil of California, one daughter Mrs. Orville (Alice) Malmberg of Spring Coulee; three grandchildren; three great grandchild­ren; three sisters and .8- brothers. He was predeceased by one grandson. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Memorial Chapel with Rev. R. D. Johnstone officiating. Interment took place in Archmount Memorial Gardens. Funeral services for the late Harry George Hillmer were held Thursday afternoon in the Magrath United Church with Pastor W. F. Schoepp of the Lutheran Church offic­iating. Active PaU.bearers were the six sons of the deceased - Lawrence, Robert, Albert, Norman, Marvin and Irvine Hillmer; Honorary Pallbearers were Jack Hocking, Jack Spring, Lloyd Sabey, Reorge Heathershaw, Percy D. Murdock, Eric Loose, Fel Balderson, Eddie Wurzer, Walt Fry, Simon Ropple» Interment took place in the family plot of the Magrath Cemetery. Visitors Sunday at the E. T. law home were Mrs. Geneva Ogden and four daughters; Miss Melba Law and Mr. Ken Soderstrum all of Lethbridge, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence law and family of Coutts, Mr. and Mrs. Don Law and family and Mrs. Olive James. Patients in the Magrath Municipal Hosp­ital during the past week include Harden Anderson, Jake Tschetter, Paul Taylor, Mrs. Annie Robinson, Mrs. Mary Nelson, Mrs. Annie Corliss, Mrs. Erva Reimsbothom and son, Baby Sims, Mbs. Margaret Rarick. Mr, and Mrs. John Helm returned to their home in Colfax, Wash* Tuesday after attend­ing the funeral of her brother the late Harry Hi 11mer Thursday, and visiting her father Mr. Hugo Hillmer, Mrs. Nettie Hill- mer, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hill me r and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hillmer.
