I / MAGRATH GRADING COM°ANY LTD. A GOOD PLACE TO TRADE A very pretty wedding was solemnized in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel Saturday morning at 10 a.M, when Pres, Tom barren united in marriage Joan Christensen, daughter of Mr» and Mrs» Norman Christensen of Magrath and Dr, Barry Steed, son of Mr, and Mrs, 0, E. Steed of Cardston, Mrs. Kathy Pollack presided at the organ for the wedding music, and during the sign­ing of the register Bishop L, B, Tanner sang "God Bless This Day" accompanied by Miss Michelle Tanner» For her wedding day the bride chose as her attendants Mrs» Cheryl Holladay as Matron of Honor, bridesmaids Mrs. Ann Stewart, Firs, Jane Ingram and Miss Mona Strate. Miss Noma Joan barren was flower girl» The groom's attendants were his four brothers with Dave Steed as best man and groomsmen Wallace, Bruce and Bob Steed. Randy Steed was ring bear­er, Ushers were Kim Christensen and Dennis Pollack. Following the ceremony the bride and groom and their attendants were driven in horse­drawn carriages around town by Mr,, Cliff Merkley and Mr. Ted Hocking, A wedding dinner was held in the Elementary School Gymnasium which was attractively decorated in the "Farm and Ranch" life theme which the bride enjoys so much. One hundred and twenty five guests signed the guest register presided over by Mr, and Mrs, Floyd Toomer. Mr. Biair Sabey was Master of Ceremonies for the occasion. During the banquet vocal numbers were rendered by the Misses Jane Alston, Chry.stal Harker, Janice Gurney and Gayle Bennett accompanied by Christine Harker. Mr, Jim Blumell proposed the toast to the bride with the groom responding, Saturday evening a large number of guests attended a Ca~lling Reception in the Gymnas­ium, Mr, and Mrs > Da~l 1 as Minion, Mr, and Mrs, Earl Neilson and Mr, and Mrs, Doug Steed greeted the guests, Mrs, Eva Kay Coppieters and Mrs. Elizabeth Strong presided at the guest register. Hostess for the evening were Mrs, Pearldean Jensen, Mrs, MMrilyn Neilson and Mrs, Shirley Neilson, The many beautiful gifts were arranged under the direction of Mrs, AUi.e Robinson and Mrs, Dawn McMMnn. A plate luncheon was served by friends, rela­tives and members of Mrs,, Christensen's club at tables arranged in the shape of a wagon wheel , tho hub of which was a decorated table holding the revolving wedding cake surr­ounded by miniature symbols of the bride .and groom's life interests, Mr, Bruce Steed was MMster of Ceremonies for a short program with Mrs. boreen Alston giving an original reading of the life of the bride and groom. The Steed family presented a specially comp­osed musical number paying tribute to the bride and groom-, A wedding dance followed with the Raymond Canadians supplying the music. The bride and groom left Monday evening for Toronto where the groom is specializing in radiology. The Jfegrath Ladies Golf Club held its closing Social Afternoon Wednesday, September 11th. Twenty six ladies met to enjoy an afternoon of golfing followed by refreshments served in the Club House under the direction of Mrs, Mary Tanner and Mrs. Winnie Ehlert. President Marjorie Balderson awarded prizes to the following fVghtowinners: Edith Sloan of Cardston, Jackie Clark of Lethbridge, Grace Navratil, Margaret Schneyder, Doreen Gur­ney, Mary Yvonne Hohm and Mary Dudley, Mrs, Sloan received a Championship trophy and consolation trophy went to Mrs, Doreen Balderson, Miss Rose Niznikowski, bride - elect, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower Friday evening, SeiTe^-er 5th held in the Lions Club Rooms with hostesses Katie Niznikow— ski, Christine Niznikowski and Stephonie Ponomar, Miss Laura Ponomar attended the guest book. Party games were conducted by Stephonie Ponomar and Mary Sereda following which the bride opened her gifts where were received by Donna Niznikowski and Tina Ponomar and displayed by Christine Niznikowski and Stephonie Ponomar, Refreshments were arrsn^ed by Mrs. Katie Niznikowski and Mrs, Elizabeth Schneyder and served by Mrs, Christine Niznik­owski and Miss Kathy Schneyder, Miss Niznikowski1s marriage to Mr, Les Bakas is an event of this Saturday, September 27th A well known Raymond resident, Mrs» Fannye Walker, wife of the late James Ho Walker, passed away in Raymond- Friday, September 12th at the age of 83 years. Funeral services ■will be held Friday, September 19th at 2 P.M. in the Taylor Stake Chapel with Elder Mel Dephew officiating. Interment will take place in Temple Hill Cemetery. Senator Edward W.
