Please check the walk in front of your property to insure that all trees and shrubs are trimmed back so as to not interfere with the sidewalk plow; also do not park cars on or near the walks, and keep block heater cords at least 10 feet above the ground. Failure of owners to do this will force the driver of the plow to by-pass that stretch of sidewalk. Not every community in this province provides this sort of service and your co-operation can insure that it is retained in Magrath. C0MP0STERS5 - In the interests of our environment and to save money the Town encourages all residents, where possible, to make use of composting systems as a means of disposing of organic household and yard wastes. A program of this nature is beneficial to the environment, saves tax dollars, and provides flowerbeds and gardens with much needed organic matter. The Town has access to some plastic household composters that are approximately 37 inches high by 32 inches wide and are designed to handle the wastes, including grass clippings, from the average home. These units will cost about $88. If anyone is interested in these at this price, please call the Town Office at 758-3212. If enough interest is shown, then the Town will order these units.
