DEL BONITA 4 H CLUB NEWS The Del Bonita Border 4 H Club Annual Award Night was held Saturday, September 7th0 Preceding the presentation of awards, the 4—H members put on an entertaining program and District Agriculturist Mr. Del Steed gave a brief talk. There will be a Fish Pond, Auction Sale of fresh garden produce and jams and pickles and a pantry sale of baked goods includ­ing homemade candy and Winnie’s fresh pies. There will be lunch at the cafeteria, hot dogs root beer and hot scones, etc, served from 5 o’clock on. Selling from the booths will begin at 6 o’clock. Bring the family for a night of fun. Cst. and Mrs. Gary Wakely of Edmonton are receiving congratulations on the birth of a son Gary Leonard born October 2nd. Golden Snow united in marriage Shirley Gibb, daughter of Mr. • and Mirs, Joe Gibb of Magrath and ^Joe1' Paulson of Calgary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mnr’vyn Fhulson of Delboume, Alberta. Following the wedding, a wedding dinner was served in the banquet room of the Mag-rath Assembly Hall. Mrs. Lillian Taylor was in charge assisted by Mesdames Della Hnlla-day, Phoebe Norton, Ruth Hovey, Joyce Thomson and Avilda Coleman. For her wedding day the bride chose as her attendants her sister Jolayne Gibb as maid of honor while sisters Marsha and Lynne Gibb and Sandra Paulson, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother Mike Fäulson, Wayne Nish and Dave Ekland. Saturday evening the bride and groom were honored at a ca~l ling reception in the Magrath Assembly Hall. Welcoming at the door were Mr, and Mrs. Elmer WiIda and Mr, Bert Gibb, uncles and aunt of the bride. Parents of the bride and groom assisted by grand­mothers Mrs, M, Wilde and Mrs. Sykes, together with the bridal party received the guests. Mr. and Mrs, Cal Stewart of Edmonton presided at the guest register and Miss Dawn Sloan and Miss Geraldine Murphy of Calgary arranged the gift tables. ■ . ■ Mr. and Mrs. Blair Sabey and Mr, and Mrs. Roger Holladay were hosts and hostesses for.the evening. Refreshments were served by the Misses Christine Harker, Bonnie Harker, Janice Toomer, Joy Harker, Rosemary Briggs, Laureen, Maureen and Jean Thomson. Mrs. Margaret Leishman supervised kitchen arrangements assisted by Mesdames Eva Marie Harker, Ruth T: hnson, Bessie Cook and Lois Blumell. Gunell of Othello, Washington, became the bride of Allen Brice Gurney, son of Mr, and Mrs. Waldon Gurney of Magrath, Wednesday, October 9th, In the evening an Open House to meet the bride was held in the banquet room of the Magrath Assembly Hall. The bride1s attendants were her sister Mrs, Harold James and the groom*s sister Miss Doreen Gurney. John Bourne was best man. The hall was beautifully decorated in fall colors by Mirs. Claire Bogdon, Mr. and Mrs, Warren Harris of Spring Coulee welcomedthe guests and Mirs. Irene Blumel presided at the guest book. Miss Leslie Smith and Miss Christie Blumel arranged the gift tables. Mirs. Joyce Thomson was in charge of the lunch. The marriage of Mrs. Eleanor Finch and Mr, Ted Witbeck, hoth of Raymond, took place in the Raymond L.D.S. Second Ward Chapel Saturday, September 28th with Bishop D. Hall officiating. Mrs. Barbara Witbeck, daughter of the bride attended as matron of honor. The groom1 s attendant was his son Ted, Jr, • Open House was held that evening in the Legion Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Christen­sen, sister and brother—in—law of the groom, greeted the guests. Mrs. Ruth Rollingson, sister of the bride, attended the guest book. Miss Linda Rollingson received and arranged the gifts. In charge of the lunch and servitors were friends of the bride. Following a honeymoon in British Columbia the happy couple are making their home in Raymond. A resident of Magrath since 1903, Mrs. Ruby Shelton Ririe, passed away suddenly in Magrath Friday, October 11th at the age of 67 years. The late Mrs. Ririe received her education in Magrath and -Provo, Utah and in 1920 married the late Melvin Ririe in the Salt Lake Temple, They made their home in Magrath. district. Survivors include one son Shelton of Magrath, one daughter Mrs. T.1 oyd (Marianne) Farrell of Peace River, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters Mrs. Pearl Austin of Magrath and Mrs. Blanche Breckenridge of Lethbridge. Funeral services were held in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel Wednesday afternoon with Bishop Mark Dahl officiating. Interment took place in the Magrath cemetery. Mrs. Gladys Coleman of Mledicine Hat visited with relatives in Magrath during the weekend. Mr. and Mirs, E. E, Scoville and son of Mledicine Hat were among the out-of-town rel­atives who attended the wedding of Miss Shirley Gibb and Mir. Joe Paulson Saturday, Mr. and Mrs, Blair Meldrum of Saskatoon were Thanksgiving weekend visitors at the homes of Mr. and Mirs. Lloyd Meldrum and Mr. and Mrs. Garth Coleman.
