She was born in London, England on June 21st, 1899 and came to Canada with her parents Fred & Clara Fulwood, settling in Magrath in 1907. She was taught to and U.C.W. at as "Grama" by she will be raised and educated in Magrath and school in Magrath prior to her marriage Owen Owens on August 11th, 1919 and had resided on the family farm ever since. She was a Charter member of the Women's Hospital Auxiliary; had served many years as Secretary-Treasurer of the Magrath United Church Sunday School and on the board of Elders and was a ' member of the Ladies Aid the time of her passing. Affectionately known family and friends alike, greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Virginia & husband Leonard Hillmer, her three sons Allen and wife Norma, Robert and wife Joy, Ken and wife Sharon; her six grandchildren, Helen Jean and Ervin Braun, Barry and Debbie Owens, Ron Hillmer, Beverly and Claude Coupal, Sheila and Kim Speelman and Monte Owens and her seven great grandchildren Kim, Sean, Chad, Cam, Kristie, Bradley and Casey Rae. ‘ She was predeceased by her parents Fred & Clara Fulwood and husband Owen. Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon, April 29th in the Magrath United Church with Rev. Douglas Dunn officiating. Interment was in the Magrath Cemetery. Highlights of the tour included visits to London, Canterbury, Paris, Versailles, Pisa, Assisi, Florence, Tivoli and Rome. < There was a short visit to the impressive war memorial at Vimy, where the names of some relatives were found amongst those of many Canadians and others who died in the battle of Vimy Ridge. The students became aware of the many differences in language, culture, foods and living conditions in the different regions and developed a greater appreciation of their home area, (despite the winds). They became quite efficient at handling the different currencies and rates of exchange and had fun using the underground transit systems of the 3 major cities.
