President Mrs. Mildred Harker conducted the business meet­ing following which Mrs. Blanche Holman, secretary of the local Library Board, gave a very informative talk on "Library Books". Mrs. Doreen Alston registered the names of parents and teachers present for the Book contest of the evening. Mrs. Shirley Neil­son’s room was winners of a library book for the most number of points for the Elem­entary School while Mrs. Haynes Room receiv­ed the library book for the High School. Points were awarded for attendance at the Home and School meeting with mothers receiv­ing 1 point, teachers 2 points, fathers 3 points, Mother and Father - 5 points. Fol­lowing the meeting lunch was served with Mrs. Helen Godionton in charge of arrange­ments. Mr, and Mrs. Stuart Van Horn have re­turned home following a motor trip to Cal­gary and Edmonton and surrounding points where they visited relatives and friends in­cluding former 1-fe.grath residents - Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gommerud and sons in Three Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Slipp and family in Rimbey and Rev. and Mrs. Jim Elliot in Sherwood Park. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Coleman had as their guests during the weekend her sons-in- law and daughters Mr, and'Mrs. Randall Meeks and daughters of Edmonton, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Fisher and family of Tilley. Five hundred sixty seven votors cast their ballots at Magrath polls Monday in the Federal electibn. Dean R. Gundlock received 282 votes, Frqnk Sherrihg — 92 " votes, Wallace Strom -’171 votes, and Mrs. F. Grantham — 18 votes.
