On Fri. night the Butte Montana Blues were defeated 4-2 on their home ice in Warner. On Sat. morning the contest was repeated in Magrath. This time a Butte goal with .5 seconds on the clock, earned them a 5-5 tie. After a lunch break the team traveled to Picture Butte to play the combined Picture Butte/Coaldale team. The game was a long tedious penalty filled affair. Our team took only 4 calls while Picturedale received 10 calls including two ejections. Their enthusiastic goaltender took 3 calls for slashing, roughing & spearing. We won the game 7-2. The team finished our 16 game league schedule with a 12-3-1 record good enough for second place in the south division. A tough three game playoff format will determine if we get a shot at the league championship game against the north side. The coaches like our chances. Individual weekend results were as follows: L. Hofer 4 goals - 1 assist, A. Loose 2 goals, S. Nishikawa 4 assists,B. Koskewich 3 assists, J. Rudd 4 goals - 4 assists, S. Johnson 1 assist. R. Yoshihara 1 goal -1 assist, S. Ragan 1 goal, A. Wamboldt 4 goals - 4 assists, A reminder to members of St. Joseph's CWL of the Rummoli Party to be held at Mickey & Dorothy Barnett's on Sunday Feb. 20th @ 7 p.m. It is of local interest to report that "Frankie Takacs", a native of Magrath who has pursued a career in acting appears in the movie "Snow Day".
