Parents of Sr/Hi students will soon be receiving their surveys in the mail, please fill these in & return them in the self-addressed stamped envelope as soon as possible. All surveys need to be returned, so the results can begin to be calculated. If you haven't received a survey, please contact the school. Basketball has ended for the season. The Zeniths finished with a 27-9 record. The Eagles finished by winning the 4A Jr Varsity Southern Alberta League Championship. The Pandas ranked 4th place and Gr. 8 boys won the Westwinds Regional Div. Championship. Zenith baseball tryouts are this week at the Tom Karren Gym. The League starts in April. Magrath High School badminton is well underway. If anyone is interested in going to Taber for a 3 on 3 basketball tournament in Taber, contact Brad Sabey for entry forms. ****** MAGRATH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Thurs. March 20, 7:00 p.m. "The Magic of Music" Spring Sing. Grades 1-5 will be presenting their award winning presentations from the Cardston Music Festival, also the Grade 5 students will be doing their performance of "Johnny Appleseed". Thursday March 27th - Kindergarten to Gr. 6 will be creating Easter Bonnets from recyclable materials (bring your own materials) they will then meet at 3 p.m. in the auditorium to show off their bonnets. ****** Easter and Spring Break are fast approaching, the students will be on break starting Good Friday, March 28th and will resume classes on Monday April 7th, 1997. ****** Thank You School Council The Staff of the Elementary, Jr and Sr. High Schools would like to express their appreciation for the delicious meal served by the School Council March 5th. The Council's thoughtfulness and kindness contributed greatly to the success of Personal Development Day. ****** Mr. Ken Hoibak accepted the Commissioner's Commendation on behalf of the Magrath & District Ambulance Service. This was awarded for their part in the rescue & attempted revival of the late Sergeant Greg Perrett on November 16, 1995. This was awarded in Raymond on March 12, 1997. The plaque and a picture of the Magrath & District Ambulance Service Members will be put on display at the Library. ****** PLEASE NOTE The Magrath and District Directors Meeting will be held TONIGHT March 19th, 1997 at the Magrath Ice Arena 7:30 P.M. Grant is survived by his wife, Gean, and his children Kaye(Chuck) Page, Susan (Allen) Gallup, Carol (Allan) Thompson; Neil (Roberta) Wheeler, and Dennis (Becky) Wheeler. He is also survived by his mother Verna Wheeler, Brother Vern (Jennie) Wheeler and sister-in-law Cora. Wheeler. The funeral took place in the Magrath Stake Centre on Thursday March 13, 1997.
