Mrs. Eva Weing, beloved wife late Jacob Weing, passed away in Magrath Municipal Hospital March at the age of 82 years. Born in Hungary, the late Mrs. Weing came to Canada with her husband and fam­ily in 1954 settling in Magrath. Her husband Jacob passed away in 1959. She has resided at the home of her son Jacob and his wife Katie until the time of her passing. Survivors include two sons Jacob of Magrath and John of Hamilton, Ontario; one sister, Apalonia Nesz in Germany; two grandchildren, John Rosa Weing of Hamilton, grandchildren Kathy and Magrath. Funeral services for Weing were held in St. John's Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, March 26/80 with Pastor Fred Hertwig officiating. Eva Kren attended the Memorial Book register while ushers for the service were Norman Hillmer and Ernst Widmer. Donna Warnock presided at the organ and accompanied the congregation in the singing of the hymns "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me". Pallbearers were Louis Kren, Elias Frick, John Rallion, Henry Railion, Albert Gust, Phillip Waiand. Interment took place in the Magrath Cemetery. Martin Bros, were in charge of funeral arrangements. of th the 24/80 i Weing of Magrath, Ontario; two great Robert Weing of the late Mrs. For the fourth year in a row, Michael Gruninger was Grand Award winner of the Lethbridge Regional Science Fair held the past week, Michael also won the gold medal in his category, Grades 7,8,9, and a trip to the National Fair which will be held in Thompson, Manitoba May 11th to 18th. His display this year was Geometro­dynamics . • Michael is the 14 year old son of George and Irene Gruninger. We congratulate Michael on his winning of this grand award and wish him continued success in his knowledge of Science. Lolavee had served as a director of this organization for many years and as president for about ten years before his retiremat His father had helped found this organization and also served as present. Both men have served with distinction having a particular ability to work with government officials in behalf of these organizations. He received the traditional order of the Golden Fleece. The dinner held at Erickson’s was attended b delegates from across Canada, all members of Lolavee’s family available as well as some his friends. Lolavee has served many years in many positions with distinction and has shown himself to be a real leader as is the case with over twenty years as president of the Sugar Beet Growers in Alberta and Canada. I Mrs. Eva (Powell) Gruninger, beloved wife of Steve Gruninger, passed away in Del Bonita Saturday, March, 29, 1980 at the age of 51 years. Born June 21, 1928 in Cardston, she lived in Rinard for her first seven years, then in 1935 moved with her parents to Kimball. She lived in the Cardston vicinity until moving to Magrath in the fall of 1945 where she met and married Steve Gruninger on July 18, 1946. She is survived by her loving husband Steve, two sons Bryan of Lethbridge, Richard of Star City, West Virginia; four daughters Mrs. Ray (Afton) Johnson and Mrs. Low (Laurel) Hansen of Magrath, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Henry of Del Bonita and Roberta Gruninger of Vancouver, B.C.; seven grandchildren Donna and Wendi Johnson and Kerry Hansen of Magrath, Roberta Noel of Vancouver, Jessica Henry of Del Bonita, Woody and Josh Gruninger of Star City, West Virginia; seven sisters Mrs. Ruth Vester of. Vancouver, Mrs. Georgia Hague of Cardston, Mrs. Fern Hague of Castlegar, Mrs. Sally Rogers of Whitefish, Mrs. Marie Slawson of Lethbridge, Mrs. Faye Olsen of Mes$, Arizona, Mrs. Afton Woslyng of Inuvik, N.W.T; one brother Lewis Powell of Sundown, Texas.
