A GOOD PLACE TO TRADE M.H.S. BASKETBALL The High School Basketball teams travelled, to Lethbridge last Thursday evening to play the L.C.I. The Magrath Eagles were defeated in the "B" game by the fc.C.I. "Colts" with a score of 42-30, Top scorers were L.C.I.’s Brian Morgan with 15 and Magrath's DeVar Dahl with 7 points. In the "A" game the Zeniths topped L.C.I.'s Rams with a 48-37 score. Bryan Sheer hooped 15 for Magrath and Ehlart made 11 for Lethbridge. This Friday the Magrath teams will take on the Cardston teams in the Big Gym. Magrath Boy Scout DeVar Dahl and WeTling Boy Scout David Smith were among 67 Boy Scouts from Southern Alberta who were made "Queen Scouts" at an impressive ceremony held in the L.C.I. Auditorium when the Rt. Hon, Grant MacEwan presented each boy with their Queen Scout certificate, DeVar is the son of Dr, and Mrs. R, M, Dahl while David is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Waldo Smith, District Governor Bob Harris and Mrs. Harris of Big Fork, Montana were guests of honor when the Magrath Lions Club held "Ladies Night" in the United Church Hall Tuesday evening, November Sth. Address of welcome was given by Lion President Blair Sabey. T.i on Frank Sabey offered the invocation and a turkey — roast beef dinner was served by the N&grath U.C.W. “ lion Ted Haynes introduced the musical portion of the evening when the Misses Marilyn Harris, Janet Tanner and Janice Rice sang "Moonlight Bay" and "I Enjoy Being A Girl" accompanied by Mrs. Charlotte Fletcher on the piano. District Governor Harris was guest speaker of the evening and was introduced by Lion Charlie Matkin. Pres. Blair Sabey presented the Harris’ with a gift of appreciation at the conclus­ion of the evening. The Del Bonita Border 4H Beef Club held its monthly meeting in the Del ed Church Hall November 12th, The new executive is: President - Kathy Newton; ident Debbie Powlesland; Treasurer - Ken Perry; Club Reporter - Arlene Woolf; Judy Walburger; Program Committee — Janice Kolasko, Russel Rasmussen and Craig Godionton; Lunch Committee — Brenda Kolasko, L]_Oyd Hillmer, Wanda Hoyt and Jane Walburger. Three charitable donation committees were also elected as follows: from the East — Sharon Rob­inson, Dale Jorgensen and Conrad Walburger; North - Rick Strate, Christine Thompson and Cecilia Helgeson; West — Russel Rasmussen, Doran Perry and Kirk Godionton. Business for the meeting included the organization of a Christmas Dance to be held December 23rd; an explanation of the record books was given by Junior Leaders Kathy Newton and Wandy Hbyt. Mrs. R. Sheridan of Magrath explained to members how they could insure their calves. A Centennial project was also suggested and members are to bring their ideas to the next meeting, December 10th. The Charitable Donations Committee from the West collected nine dollars to be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association was led by Judy Walburger and Debbie Powlesland. The charge was for breaking and entering, blowing the safe and stealing $9DO.CO Thu burgler was c-ught, pleaded guilty to the charge and received a fine of q>500.00 or three months in jail, with a week to raise the money. The court consisted of a Lethbridge judge, defence lawyer and the Crown Prosecutor, . Compare the above with a trial in Lethbridge two weeks ago for breaking and enter­ing, Two men were committed to stand trial. A GOOD PLACE TO TRADE M.H.S. BASKETBALL The High School Basketball teams travelled, to Lethbridge last Thursday evening to play the L.C.I. The Magrath Eagles were defeated in the "B" game by the fc.C.I. "Colts" with a score of 42-30, Top scorers were L.C.I.’s Brian Morgan with 15 and Magrath's DeVar Dahl with 7 points. In the "A" game the Zeniths topped L.C.I.'s Rams with a 48-37 score. Bryan Sheer hooped 15 for Magrath and Ehlart made 11 for Lethbridge. This Friday the Magrath teams will take on the Cardston teams in the Big Gym. Magrath Boy Scout DeVar Dahl and WeTling Boy Scout David Smith were among 67 Boy Scouts from Southern Alberta who were made "Queen Scouts" at an impressive ceremony held in the L.C.I. Auditorium when the Rt. Hon, Grant MacEwan presented each boy with their Queen Scout certificate, DeVar is the son of Dr, and Mrs. R, M, Dahl while David is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Waldo Smith, District Governor Bob Harris and Mrs. Harris of Big Fork, Montana were guests of honor when the Magrath Lions Club held "Ladies Night" in the United Church Hall Tuesday evening, November Sth. Address of welcome was given by Lion President Blair Sabey. T.i on Frank Sabey offered the invocation and a turkey — roast beef dinner was served by the N&grath U.C.W. “ lion Ted Haynes introduced the musical portion of the evening when the Misses Marilyn Harris, Janet Tanner and Janice Rice sang "Moonlight Bay" and "I Enjoy Being A Girl" accompanied by Mrs. Charlotte Fletcher on the piano. District Governor Harris was guest speaker of the evening and was introduced by Lion Charlie Matkin. Pres. Blair Sabey presented the Harris’ with a gift of appreciation at the conclus­ion of the evening. The Del Bonita Border 4H Beef Club held its monthly meeting in the Del ed Church Hall November 12th, The new executive is: President - Kathy Newton; ident Debbie Powlesland; Treasurer - Ken Perry; Club Reporter - Arlene Woolf; Judy Walburger; Program Committee — Janice Kolasko, Russel Rasmussen and Craig Godionton; Lunch Committee — Brenda Kolasko, L]_Oyd Hillmer, Wanda Hoyt and Jane Walburger. Three charitable donation committees were also elected as follows: from the East — Sharon Rob­inson, Dale Jorgensen and Conrad Walburger; North - Rick Strate, Christine Thompson and Cecilia Helgeson; West — Russel Rasmussen, Doran Perry and Kirk Godionton. Business for the meeting included the organization of a Christmas Dance to be held December 23rd; an explanation of the record books was given by Junior Leaders Kathy Newton and Wandy Hbyt. Mrs. R. Sheridan of Magrath explained to members how they could insure their calves. A Centennial project was also suggested and members are to bring their ideas to the next meeting, December 10th. The Charitable Donations Committee from the West collected nine dollars to be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association was led by Judy Walburger and Debbie Powlesland. The court consisted of a Lethbridge judge, defence lawyer and the Crown Prosecutor, . Compare the above with a trial in Lethbridge two weeks ago for breaking and enter­ing, Two men were committed to stand trial.
