Mrs. Betty Briggs, Sec. Treas, MAGRATH TRADING COMPANY LTD. Mrs. Esther (ihssey) McVey passed away Saturday in the Magrath Municipal Hospital fol­lowing a lengthy illness. She was 66 years of age. Bom in Stirling, the former Esther Nate, she married Alva Passey in 1921 who pre­deceased her in 1938. She later married W. H. McVey. She is survived by four sons William of Salmon Arm, B.C. Collin of Magrath, Darrell of Calgary and John of Lethbridge; one daughter Mrs. Bill (LaVonna) Ririe of Magrath; one brother Glen Nate of Taber, a half brother Alvin Nate of Lethbridge; three sisters Mrs. Ethel Seely of Alderflats, Mrs. Phyllis Petersen of Stirling and Mrs. Ards!la Bennett of Magrath. She was also predeceased by one son Clemen who passed away February 6th of this year, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for the late Mrs. McVey were held in the Magrath LDS Chapel Tuesday afternoon with Bishop L. B. Tanner officiating. Elder Grant Wheeler conducted the serv­ice which was preceeded by friends and relatives meeting with the fami l,y in the Church. LaMar Bennett offered the family prayer, . Mrs, Vinessa Hamilton was organist and accompanied the choir when they sang the open­ing hymn "Abide With Me" with Byng Beazer as chorister. Invocation was offered by Leon­. ard McKee. Cal Alston was speaker for the funeral service! Bishop Tanner sang as a special rendition "That Wonderful Mother of MLne11 and the closing hymn by the choir was "Sometime We’ll Understand". Blair Sabey offered the benediction. Pallbearers were Dick Toomer, Bert Toomer, Howard Toomer, Dale Toomer, Floyd Toomer and Stan Toomer. Interment took place in the Ifegrath Cemetery with Bums Harker giving the graveside prayer* Mrs. Vera Fowler has returned home from Calgary were she has been a hospital patient» Mrs. Winnifred Stevens of Orion was a visitor during the weekend at the home of her mother Mrs. Winnie Bourne. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Leishman and fanrily were visitors to Great Falls Montana where they were accompanied by their son Greg who continued on to Salt Lake City, Utah and entered the Mission Home in preparation for his depature Monday, March 11th on a two year LDS Mission in South Australia. Mrs. Betty Briggs, Sec. Treas, MAGRATH TRADING COMPANY LTD. Mrs. Esther (ihssey) McVey passed away Saturday in the Magrath Municipal Hospital fol­lowing a lengthy illness. She was 66 years of age. Bom in Stirling, the former Esther Nate, she married Alva Passey in 1921 who pre­deceased her in 1938. She later married W. H. McVey. She is survived by four sons William of Salmon Arm, B.C. Collin of Magrath, Darrell of Calgary and John of Lethbridge; one daughter Mrs. Bill (LaVonna) Ririe of Magrath; one brother Glen Nate of Taber, a half brother Alvin Nate of Lethbridge; three sisters Mrs. Ethel Seely of Alderflats, Mrs. Phyllis Petersen of Stirling and Mrs. Ards!la Bennett of Magrath. She was also predeceased by one son Clemen who passed away February 6th of this year, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for the late Mrs. McVey were held in the Magrath LDS Chapel Tuesday afternoon with Bishop L. B. Tanner officiating. Elder Grant Wheeler conducted the serv­ice which was preceeded by friends and relatives meeting with the fami l,y in the Church. LaMar Bennett offered the family prayer, . Mrs, Vinessa Hamilton was organist and accompanied the choir when they sang the open­ing hymn "Abide With Me" with Byng Beazer as chorister. Invocation was offered by Leon­. ard McKee. Cal Alston was speaker for the funeral service! Bishop Tanner sang as a special rendition "That Wonderful Mother of MLne11 and the closing hymn by the choir was "Sometime We’ll Understand". Blair Sabey offered the benediction. Pallbearers were Dick Toomer, Bert Toomer, Howard Toomer, Dale Toomer, Floyd Toomer and Stan Toomer. Interment took place in the Ifegrath Cemetery with Bums Harker giving the graveside prayer* Mrs. Vera Fowler has returned home from Calgary were she has been a hospital patient» Mrs. Winnifred Stevens of Orion was a visitor during the weekend at the home of her mother Mrs. Winnie Bourne. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Leishman and fanrily were visitors to Great Falls Montana where they were accompanied by their son Greg who continued on to Salt Lake City, Utah and entered the Mission Home in preparation for his depature Monday, March 11th on a two year LDS Mission in South Australia.
