Call Ilona at 758-6579 3 CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN Youth For Action is joining other youth groups around the world in a Global Humanitarian Service Project, "Children Helping Children," to help children in Sub-Sahara Africa who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The ten countries hardest hit have been "adopted" & Ambassadors and child advocates from these countries have been consulted as to their specific needs and are thrilled with this project. These children are desperate need of basic school supplies and infant clothing. YFA will be spearheading an effort in the surrounding communities to collect and assemble 1000 of each "infant kits" and "education kits". Whether you are an individual, a family, or a large group, we can use your help. You may contribute any or all Items towards a kit and along with these supplies, you could include a picture of you or your group with a letter to the children you are helping. Following is the Humanitarian Kit Guidelines for specific supplies. If you would like to participate, or want more information, please phone Terry Clifton - 758-6881. INFANT CARE KITS Each kit should have all the items listed below folded neatty and placed in a sturdy large zip lock bag. 1 pair baby booties, new 1 'onesie' (0-6 months) short sleeved, any color, new 1 flannel blanket (please phone for sewing instructions) 4 white cloth diapers (homemade okay if hemmed) 4 diaper pins pinned on the outside of one of the diapers EDUCATION KITS All items should be put into a cloth bag that will also serve as the child's school bag. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD The KFC (Kids for Christ) youth group will be assembling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child on November 6, 2000. Operation Christmas Child has touched millions of children around the world. This project is an opportunity to reach pot to needy children in desperate situations around the world. To take part in this exciting project, simply donate any of the suggested gifts on the following list. Through Operation Christmas Child, we can share the true meaning of Christmas with millions of children and their families. Every shoe box costs $5.00 to cover shipping and related costs. If you feel you could donate any money towards this it is recommended that cheques not cash be sent with the boxes.
