Business included a report pn the success of the Parish Picnic, also a report on the Float entry in the Parade together with pictures «-f the decorated car which were donated for the Album. New business included a report by Irene Gruninger on the Regional Workshop held recently in Lethbridge. The Dicesan Executive meeting will be held in Pincher Creek Saturday, Sept. 28tho Irene Kusc reported that Mr. Stewart Norton will be guest speaker at the October meeting, topic being the facilities available in Lethbridge for the Physically Handicapped. Helen Lang is convenor for the annual Fall Bazaar to be held Saturday, November 16th. Twmbolla prizes were discussed with possibilities as: 1. A painting 2, Christmas centre peice 3<> Chinese Supper for Two. Eda Kosma made a motion that organized visiting of the elderly in the Parish be made. Two members are to visit per month, Eda Kosma and Elizabeth Stanek will be visitors for September. The next meeting, will be at Mrs. John Harveys on Tuesday, 1 |1 October 1st. DEPT Funeral Services for a fomer Magrath resident, Iredrick Harold Karren of Lethbridge, were held in the 10th Ave. L.D.S. Chapel Monday afternoon with Elder Eldon Edwards officiating. The late Mr* Karren, who cele­brated his doth birthday at an Open House July 26th, of this year, was born in Lewiston, Utah. After moving to Canada he had been engaged in farming in the Coaldale, Magrath, Iron Srprings ' areas. He moved to Lethbridge in 1949 and was employed by che Dept, ef Agriculture land Leveling Branch until retiring in 1965» He is survived by his wife Lida, two sons Fred of Picture Butte, Clinton of Taber: five daughters Mrs. Elmo (Larue) Fletcher of Card­ston, Mrs. Arthur (Lillian) Baldry of Lethbridge, Mrs. Boyd (Helendean) Huntsman of Shelley, Idaho, Mrs. Gerald (Joanne) Moser of Coaldale and Mrs. Ronald (Nurae) Peterson of Calgary; four sisters Mrs. Olga Allen of Sun City, Arizona, Mrs. Vila Kenny of Tuscon, Arizona, Mrs. Hazel Woolley of Lethbridge and Mrs. Freda Kenney ef Calgary; 32 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. He was pre­deceased by his first wife Li 11 ran in 1961 and a granddaughter Betty Fletcher in 1951» Friends were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Nada Pilling's father, Leslie Casson Cahoon, who passed away in Cardston, Sunday, Sept. Bth at the age of S3 years. He is survived by six sons Lavar, Lawrence, Edward, Edwin and Golden of Cardston, Dewey of Hines Creek; four daughters Mrs. Ray (Nada) PiVTung wf Magrath Mrs. John (Irene) Traxel and Lila Cahoon of Cardston, Mrs. Grant (Lois) Webster of Mountain View. Funeral services were held in the Leavitt L.D.S. Chapel Wednesday afternoon. Prior to her departure Miss Hillmer was presented with the "Margaret Long" Scholarship, donated by the Magrath Women's Hospital Auxiliary to the student with the highest marks entering training fur a reg­istered nurse. The presentation was made to Debbie by her grandmother, Mrs. Nettie Hillmer, a charter member ->f the Women's Hospital Auxiliary. Miss Wendy Coleman of Prowst, Alberta, was a weekend visitor at the home ->f her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Coleman. Accompanying Wendy was Mrs. Coral Blumel and children of Provost who visited with relatives and friends in Magrath during the weekend. A tragic accident occtirred on the Magrath—Del Bonita highway late Tuesday afternoon , near Rockport Colony, when a grain truck loaded with grain, headed North, took to the eiitch and burst into flames. The driver was burner beyond recvgnition. At press time no name had been released. A little girl ran to her mother in great excitement - she had come across a pressed maple leaf between the pages of the big family Bible.
