Returned to the position of Pres­ident was Ken Robinson. 1st Vice Pres. John Bourne, 2nd Vice - Fel Jalderson* 3rd Vice — Arnold Godionton; Secretary - Bertha Passey; Treasurer - Jim Cook. PRICED FROM $4.95 up Magrath Zeniths captured second spot in Southern Alberta 4A Boys Basketball championships during the excitement packed basketball weekend. In the final game Magrath de­feated Raymond Comets 71-69 and won the right to compete in the Alberta champ.iansHips this weekend in Edmonton. High scorers for the Zeniths were Barry Mehew with 18 points, Tom Alston (hero of the game who broke a 69-69 tie with 3 seconds left to play) 15 points, In the first game of the tournament Thursday evening Magrath Zeniths went down to defeat at the hands of Cardston Cougars 45-43. Barry Mehew netted 11 points. Friday’s contest saw Magrath and Winston Churchill Bulldogs tangle with the Zeniths coming out on top by a score of 51-49. Ron Harker netted 17 points for Zeniths In Saturday’s contest Magrath Zeniths, met Catholic Central Coug­ars sending them down to defeat 58-42 with Tom Alston high man with 17 points. This led to the encounter with Raymond Comets. In Junior Varsity play Magrath Eagles won second place by defeat­ing Catholic Central Flyers 42-31 in a Saturday encounter. Derrel Taylor was high man for Eagles with 13 points. Magrath then met Cardston Wild Cats and were defeated 42-39. Rob Ripley netted 12 points for Eagles. This coming Friday night Magrath Zeniths will play in the Alberta championships at Jasper Place at 8:30 p.m. Two Magrath Rinks were successful in bringing home hardware from the annual Elks Bonspiel. Rod Arndt’s rink captured the Third Event title. With Rod were team mates Roy Johnson, third, second Dan Gruninger and lead Dave Hofer. Jim Nakagawa won the.Fourth Event with team mates Bob Lag­ler, Del Andrews 'and Bob Mikado. TIMELY TIP FOR CARE OF POINSETTIA-KAep in full sun but out of drafts and keep soil moist.
