Some molds produce toxins called mycotoxins which are highly toxic even in small amounts and havte been shown to cause cancer in animals. As well as being present in the mold growth itself, these mycotoxins may seep under and around it so simply removing the visible surface growth wont remove the danger. When it dount - throw it away. It’s a shame'to throw away food, but its an even bigger shame to endanger your health. WANTED: Phone 758-6246. Q. WHY DO HOME CANNED TOMATOES HAVE TO HAVE CITRIC ACID OR RECONSTITUTED LEMON ■ JUICE ADDED? A. Tomatoes are borderline in acid quality. Some have enough acid, some do not. There is no way to determine how much acid tomatoes have at home. Citric acid or reconstituted lemon juice are added to the jar or can of tomatoes to make sure there is enough acid. Tomatoes may then be processed in the boiling water bath at 35 kPa (5 lbs. pressure). . . BEGIN TODAY Dream not too much of what you’ll do tomorrow, How well you’ll work perhaps another year; Tomorrow’s chance you do not need to borrow — Today is here. Boast not too much of mountains you will master, The while you linger in the vale below; To dream is well, but plodding brings us faster • To where we go. Talk not too much about some new endeavour, You mean to make a little later on; Who idles now will idle on forever Till life is gone. Swear not some day to break so'me habit’s fetter, When this old year is dead and passed away; If you have need of living, wiser, better Begin today! Anonymous
