ONE LITTLE LAMB* ' Jn a fifty acre pasture wit' variety of luscious g? : including white dutch clover, this little lamb, with many others, was really in clover. ’ With sheep and all farming operations one must inspect often. We neglected to give this pasture the usual once-over. We found a lamb with his head caught in a woven wire fence. How long the lamb was there we could not say. When free, it’s neck was bent and he ran side ways. As with man — so with sheep - grass always.looks greener on the other side of the fence. , IT IS LATER THAN YOU THINK When you see advertisements "Wanted - Custom Swathing and Combing" and some fields of winter wheat ready to harvest. Ray Harker on the East and Stella Karren on the West, .i. NOT HALF HAS BEEN TOLD. ' ’ A special writer in the Herald has an article telling all about the blue lupins, the deer and at elope along the Milk River Ridge« like the Blue Bells of Scotland. From the McIntyre Ranch South to the boundry ¿nd East and West the range land is blue as far as the eye can see. What the Herald writer didn’t tell you was that in Merck’s Veterinary Manual lupins are listed under poisonous plants - ^affected afiimals, sheep also cattle and horses. Eating of pods with seeds frequent cause of poisoning", etc. One day at Twin River we had twenty lambs die in short order. Poisoned. It is presumed the mothers ate the lupins and the lambs got the poison from the mother’s milk. Four leaf mallow and pea vines from ^ilos work the same way — the moth eh* s milk. ' The special writer didn’t inention that the McIntyre Ranch is a game sanctuary. Rockport Colony joins the'Ranch oh the North. A Magrath hunter shot three deer on their side Of the fence in'one day. Hunters will wait until a deer jumps the fence on the Rockport side, then shoot it. There is always the other sideJ , . 4 MY 3 1 1 FAVORITE RECIPE. M.
