REGULAR 890 skein for 39 Cleo (Head) Allen, beloved mother of Alice May Allen of Magrath passed away in Magrath Tuesday, December 31, 1974 at the age of 83 years. Born in Cardston, August 18, 1891, she was the second daughter of Jasper Head and Mary Thomas Head, one of 12 children, six of whom have predeceased her. Her parents were bom in the U.S.A, and came to Cardston in 1891 living there until 1900 when they moved to Magrath where Cleo had resided until her passing except for 13 years when she resided at Bradshaw, first as housekeeper for John Allen and his brother Frank. She married John H. Allen on December 9th, 1925, moved to Magrath in 1943, back to Bradshaw in 1944 and finally back to Magrath in 1945, Mr. Allen passing away November 21, 1945» BATH. MATS. Funeral services were held in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel Friday, January 3rd with Bishop Tyler Alston officiating. The family prayer was offered by Russell Blumell, Afton Keeler presided at the organ and accompanied the choir in the singing of "0 My Father1’, led by L. B. Tanner. Invocation was offered by Njral Fletcher. L. B. Tanner sang as a vocal solo ’’The Old Rugged Cross”. Speakers for the service were Emerson Blumell and Glen Sillito. Closing hymn by the choir was "Abide With Me Tis Eventide”. Svend Jensen offered the benediction. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Bradshaw, Jack Rasmussen, Leo Coleman, Eldred Foote, Clyde Bennett and David Keeler. Active Pallbearers were Edgar Anderson, Mark Evans, Russell Blumell, Jim Blumell, Phillip Parkins and Eugene Parkins. In Raymond’s Sugar Bowl, December 27th, the Zeniths first played and l^st to the John DeifenLaker Chiefs Saturday they defeated Luther Lions from Regina, then defeated William Aberharat Trojans to take the consolation. Ron Harker received an "All Star"• January 3rd Zeniths travelled to Regina and took part in the Sodbuster Tournament losing their first game to tne Neelin Spartans from Brandon, Manitoba. January 4th they defeated the O’Neil Titans, then the Nutana Blues to win the consolation of this tournament also.
