Tako u ovom radu opisujemo uređaje koji rade na principu dezalinizacije i obrnute osmoze. Pored toga, da bi sami uređaji mogli besprijekorno raditi tj. da bi se produljio njihov radni vijek potrebno je spriječiti stvaranje kamenca na ogrijevnim površinama te vršiti redovita održavanja i čišćenja. Proizvedena slatka voda se posebnim uređajima filtrira, omekšava i bakteriološki čisti te se tako pretvara u destiliranu i pitku vodu. Ta voda se pohranjuje u skladišnim tankovima slatke vode. Na brodovima kod kojih nije moguće primijeniti vakuumaske generatore slatke vode ugrađuju se generatori slatke vode koji rade na principu obrnute osmoze. Nowadays, different versions of devices for turning seawater into fresh water are used onboard a ship. The devices that work on the principle of desalination and reversible osmosis are described in this thesis. Nevertheless, in order to enable the impeccable work of the devices, i.e. in order to extend their working period, it is necessary to prevent the creation of scale on the heating surfaces and to practise regular maintenance and cleaning. The produced fresh water is filtered by means of special devices; it is softened and cleaned from any bacteria and in that way transformed into distilled and potable water. That water is then stored into fresh water storage tanks. On ships where it is not possible to apply fresh water vacuum generators, the fresh water generators working on the reversible osmosis principle are installed.
