Summary: | Correspondence between Herman R. Friis, Director of the Center for Polar Archives, the National Archives and Records Service, and Wilma B. Fairchild of the American Geographical Society. The correspondence is in regards to Friis borrowing the American Geographical Society flag to be flown on East Ongul Island, Lützow-Holm Bay, East Antarctica. Friis' report "With the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition to Antarctica 1969-1970" as well as two photographs documenting the AGS flag being flown at the site are included.
