Summary: | In modern science, there is an ever-increasing demand for a more powerful, flexible and globally connected research infrastructure to tackle computational challenges in simulation, modeling and data analysis. The bwHPC initiative, founded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the universities in Baden-Württemberg, is a state-wide federated approach to assist scientists with mastering these challenges. At the 7th bwHPC Symposium in November 2021, scientific users, technical operators and government representatives came together for a one-day online event. The symposium provided not only an opportunity for researchers to present their scientific results aided by bwHPC resources, but also served as a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas about the large-scale computing and data infrastructure in Baden-Württemberg and their further development. |
