For å få laget et godt støtteprogram som både var var effektivt i forhold til å støtte livsstilsending og meningsfullt å bruke ble innspill fra brukerne kombinert med et sterkt teoretisk rammeverk (modeller for helseatferd). En fokusgruppe på elleve pasienter ble intervjuet om behov, tanker og ideer om fysisk aktivitet etter rehabiliteringsoppholdet og om hvordan teknologi kunne hjelpe dem. Pasienter fra Skibotn Rehabilieteringssenter ble tilfeldig fordelt i to grupper – én som fikk individuelt skreddersydd oppfølging og én som fikk en generisk versjon av programmet (kontrollgruppe). Mengde av fysisk aktivitet ble målt ved hjelp av spørreskjema etter hhv én måned og tre måneder. I tillegg ble mestringsforventning, endringsstadium, sosial støtte, angst og depresjon ble målt. Resultatet viste at gruppen med skreddersydd oppfølging i gjennomsnitt gikk signifikant mer enn de i kontrollgruppen tre måneder etter rehabiliteringsoppholdet.
