Distribution of Tsunami Heights in the USSR and Korea for Tsunamis generated in the Japan Sea

application/pdf 1940年積丹沖津波, 1964年新潟津波および1983年日本海中部津波など,ソ連と韓国での検潮記録を用い,日本海で発生した津波の各沿岸域における波高分布の特徴を詳しく調べた.韓国での津波の波高は,そのマグニチュードを約2階級ほど上回っものに対応する.同じく沿海州テチュへ付近での津波の波高は,そのマグニチュードの割に大きくなる傾向がある.逆にテチュへ以北の沿海州およびサハリンの沿海域での波高は,小さくなることが多い.さらに過去250年間(1741～1990)に,日本海で発生した津波の各沿岸域における波高の2乗累積値分布を調べた.その結果によれば,この期間に全津波エネルギーの約69%が日本の沿岸に,約20%が朝鮮半島の沿岸域に,そして約11%がソ連の沿岸域に到達したことになる. Using tide-gauge records in the USSR and Korea, the distribution of wave-heights for the 1940 Shakotan-Oki, the 1964 Niigata and the 1983 Nihonkai-Chubu tsunamis is investigated. According to the tsunami height-distance diagram, the tsunami heights observed on the Korean coast exceed more than 4.5 times higher than the average tsunami magnitude.
