Description
Summary:Mestrado Bolonha em Economia The aim of this Thesis is to evaluate the influence of the size of public expenditures in the medium and long-term economic growth on 31 countries in Europe (EU 27 and United Kingdom, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway) over the period of 1995-2019. Since there are countries with different per capita incomes, the sample was segmented among the countries with higher and lower per capita incomes. Based on several econometric techniques, it is concluded that the size of public expenditures has a negative effect on growth in the medium and long term, especially in countries with lower per capita income, which is explained by the countries under analysis being on the descending side of Armey Curve. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion
