Distributed temperature sensing in the Amery Ice shelf and the sub ice shelf ocean

Optical fibre cables for a distributed temperature sensing system have been installed through the Amery Ice Shelf and into the underlying ocean by the Australian AMISOR project. This was done at two hot water drilled boreholes during the austral summer of 2009-10.
