Vrste jedara

A sail, cloth of special shape expanded over a mast with the purpouse of protruding a boat forward with the help of wind. Since the ancient times the usage of sail in purpouse of exploring new nautical routes and transport of people and goods. Its shape, size and even the shear number of sails has changed. At first it was made out of natural materials, while today stronger, firmer materials that are more resistant to atmospheric effects prevail. Paralel with the development of sails the gear for controling the sail has evolved, which greately aids the skiper in running the sailboat and controling the shear number of sails that we have on modern sailboats. The objective of this article is to give insight in the proces of development of more types and a greater number of sails through history. Bachelor Thesis sami The University of Split Repository
