U ovom završnom radu opisano je što je to SQL (Strukturni upitni jezik, engl. Structured Query Language) baza podataka (engl. database), kao i primjer jednog poslužiteljskog servisa od tvrtke Microsoft. Na početku je objašnjeno što je to zapravo SQL baza podataka, a dalje se vraćamo u povijest i sami početak SQL-a i baza podataka. Zatim je opisan servis Azure, što je točno, kome je namijenjen i što sve nudi. Opisani su modeli servisa u oblaku kao što su IaaS (Infrastruktura kao usluga, engl. Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platforma kao usluga, engl. Platform as a Service), te SaaS (Softver kao usluga, engl. Software as a Service). Potom se obavlja migracija baze podataka na servis Azure. Prvo se instalira virtualni stroj (engl. virtual machine), zatim se instalira Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio pomoću kojega se dodaje baza podataka na poslužitelj. Na kraju se obavlja migracija koristeći Azure portal i virtualni stroj, te usporedba učinkovitosti između lokalnog poslužitelja i onog u oblaku. In this final thesis it is explained what SQL database is and also an example of one cloud service from Microsoft. The beginning explains what SQL database really is, and then we go back in history and the very beginning of SQL and databases. Then the Microsoft Azure service is introduced, what is it exactly, who it is intended for and what it has to offer. Next is described a few cloud service models like IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Then a migration of the database to the Azure cloud service is done. First, a virtual machine is installed, then a SQL Server Management Studio is installed to add a database to it. Finally, migration is performed using the Azure portal and a virtual machine, and performance comparison between local server and cloud based server.
