Das Papier befasst sich mit Umweltproblemen der Schelf- und Küstengebiete in den Arktischen Meeren. Die unregelmäßige Verteilung der Schadstoffe wird durch verschiedene Determinanten verursacht, darunter unter anderem geomorphologische und ozeanologische Faktoren. Es werden die Quellen der Schadstoffe und deren räumliche Verteilung im Gewässerraum besprochen. Der Schelf und die Küstenregionen sind möglicherweise die wichtigsten Transitgebiete innerhalb der Meeresökosysteme. Als Transferzone stellen sie Gebiete höchster Artenvielfalt, hoher biologischer Produktivität sowie die größten Öl- und Gasvorkommen dar. Darüber hinaus ist es eine Region mit intensiver Schifffahrt und Schifffahrt sowie dem Bau von Seehäfen, d. h. es ist dem maximalen anthropogenen Druck ausgesetzt. Daher ist die ökologische Nachhaltigkeit der Meeresküsten in den Schelfgebieten von großer Bedeutung. The paper addresses environmental problems of the shelf and coastal areas in the Arctic seas. Irregular distribution of the contaminants is cased by various determinants including among others geomorphological and oceanological factors. The sources of the pollutants and their spacial distribution in the water area are discussed. The shelf and the coastal regions is perhaps the most important transit areas within the marine ecosystems. Being the transfer zone they represent areas of the max- mial biodiversity level, high biological productivity as wel as the largest oil and gas deposit areas. Besides that, ti is the region of the intensive navigation and shipping, maritime port construction, i.e. ti si exposed ot the maximal anthropogenic pressure. Hence, the environmental sustainability of the marine coasts in the shelf areas si of high importance.
