Description
Summary:Before preparing the exhibition of a basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus) in the Marine Biology Museum “Pietro Parenzan”, a questionnaire was submitted to 1003 students attending primary, secondary and high schools. The questionnaire was aimed to ascertaining their knowledge about sharks, filtration mechanisms and plankton. The answers evidenced different levels of interest and competence according to age (primary school students resulted more interested and informed than elder ones) and to type of high school. The questionnaires allowed to improve the didactic message conveyed by the exhibition, according to the level of competence and preferences of the main target of the museum.
