Die einzigartige biologische Vielfalt am Meeresbodens des Südlichen Ozeans gerät zunehmend unter Druck, da Veränderungen der Meereisbedeckung Auswirkungen auf empfindliche benthische Organismen haben, die auf den Nahrungseintrag von der Oberfläche zum Meeresboden angewiesen sind. Dennoch wissen wir wenig über die Antarktische endobenthische Vielfalt (Meio- und Makrofauna). Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, das Verständnis der antarktischen endobenthischen Artenvielfalt zu erweitern, indem taxonomische und funktionelle Aspekte auf Arten- und Gemeinschaftsebene mit Umweltfaktoren verknüpft werden.
