Manitoba's first Aboriginal Judge, Justice Sinclair was appointed Associate Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Manitoba in 1988 and shortly thereafter appointed Co-Commissioner of Manitoba's Aboriginal Justice Inquiry. Justice Sinclair has been awarded a National Aboriginal Achievement Award, as well as honourary degrees from the Universities of Manitoba, Ottawa, and St. John's College. He is an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba.
