Today, salmon fishing is still an important activity and every ear Tutchone families spend a few weeks on their fishing camps. Fish treatment modalities and discard behaviour are, in this case, relevant in explaining th few quantities of fish remains recovered in the bones samples. It also appears that the main function of such a site can rather be inferred from the site location or the facilities patterns than from the faunal remains from the fishing activity. Une collecte d'ossements animaux abandonnés en surface a été menée sur un camp de pêche au saumon en territoire Indien Tutchone (Yukon, Canada). L'analyse faunistique montre qu'il y a très peu de restes de poissons. Cela s'explique par le mode de traitement du poisson et des éventuels déchets. Par conséquent la visibilité d'un tel type de site s'exprime, non par les traces de l'activité principale exercée sur le site, mais par des critères indirects tels que la localisation du site ainsi que par la nature et l'agencement des installations dans le site.
