I shall prize it most highly all my life.Next summer when the International Geological Congress meets in Canada they are to have a long excursion into the Northwest in connection with which they have allowed me to arrange and be the guide for a glacial excursion. This will start from Skagway on September 12 (after the party returns from the Klondike) and will go by special steamer for a five days trip to Muir Glacier, Yakutat Bay, and Malaspina Glacier. I anticipate there may be 50 to 70 Europeans and Americans on the excursion (judging by the number that went to Spitzbergen in 1910) How I wish you could arrange to go too! With warm personal regards and holiday greetingsVery sincerely yours,Lawrence Martin05326 Text glacier* Skagway Spitzbergen University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law: Scholarly Commons Canada |
