Description
Summary:To Henry Fairfield[?] OsburnMartinez, Cal. Apr.10, 1899My dear OsbornYou will see by the enclosed clipping that Yosemite is ready for you. The snow fall on the mountains has been comparatively light this winter & the best time to visit the Valley will probably be early in May. I am invited to join an exploring party of Naturalists, Botanists, Geologists etc on a special steamer to leave Seattle the last week of May for Glacier Bay, Yakutat, Cooks Inlet & Kodiack, & if you can come for Yosemite not later than the middle of next month I may have the pleasure of the Sierra trip with you and still be in time for the Alaska trip. But before I can accept this tempting invitation to the Northern Glaciers I will wait to hear from you when our Yosemite excursion is to be. With best wishes & many happy recollections I amvery truly yoursJohn Muir02564
