We do not need a long dissertation on Linnaeus, or on science, but we would like to have just such a warm expression of admiration as you can give without books, chart or compass. Supposing it is not more than 700 or a thousand words, it will be ample to introduce such selections as we can have made here out of Linnaeus's books, by some one who reads Swedish. Mrs. Warner and I came upon the Linnaea -borealis on a trip through Northern Sweden, and were perfectly enchanted, and when we saw Linnaeus's perfectly serene and beautiful statue in Stockholm we were more enchanted still. I shall hope to get this little tribute to Linnaeus from you in the course of a few weeks. Don't say no.
