Description
Summary:[letterhead] [in margin: 87] 01244Oakland Oct 21dDear John Muir:Grateful thoughts for your kindly remembrance of us have been flying your way ever since the grapes arrived but unfortunately for busy fingers these wings were not steady enough to carry them further then the thoughts. As I opened the box the fresh sweet breath seemed wafted from the country and it is the only one I have had this year for I have not been able to leave home. The "sticky skies" of Oakland have held me fast. How we all would like to see you- [FT?] think Wanda is growing to be a great girl and has not even been in O. She is very birght and sweet I hear. Do you still regale her with character stories? We are all about the same - Mother suffereing from a severe cold just now and I with enough headaches to keep me from accomplishing anything_We hear you thought of another Arctic trip; is it true? Why are we not made happy by seeing your name in The Century?Has your soul gone into the soil and awaits resurrection?Come and see us_Gratefully May F.B.
