Harriman went hunting & climbing on same mtn with Ind[Indian] Jim of Yakutat. Arrived at ship about midnight. Ladies came [ashore] after church services at 10 PM & enjoyed ramble on [bay]. In the meantime I rambled in woods & [bay] [bog] ([peat] 4 to 6 ft deep). Spruce 380 years old, 4 dia? Found few in flr. Not fertile here abouts this yr. P[icea]. hemlock in flr. Grows tall here with other species & spruce cassiope Kalmia delicate Cranberry ab[out] also aster & fritilaria[fritillaria] dark purp[le] caltha 27th Started for Port Wells Gl[acier] soon after 1 A.M.
