The last letter I had from him was from Oonalaska harbor[3]in Alaska where the ship Thomas Corwin was taking on coal and additional supplies for a long cruise up through Behring Strait then northward along the Seberion coast – it is now thought that the Jeannette was lost off [deleted: Cape] Point Barrow – I see by the Papers that another Ship the “Alliance” has also gone in search of the Jeanette David is doing a much greater business than he usually does, but at present his health is quite poor, he must surely have a vacation some time this summer – Annie has been engaged in the store for several weeks – and likes the work very well – I expect Emma and the children begin to feel at https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/jmcl/34758/thumbnail.jpg |
