he was a good and honorable man and that if the trade was stopped he would give back all that he had received and go home, leaving the ivory on deck heedless of what became of it or who got it. The woman of the party, perhaps 18 years of age, merry and good-looking, went among the sailors and danced, sang, and joined with them.
