Summary:Probiotics are used primarily for gastrointestinal applications, also present in skin, oral and vaginal health. The Lactobacillus casei is used as a probiotic microorganism. Previous studies demonstrate in vitro efficacy of Vancomycin associated L. casei against S. aureus. 20 specimens of Rattus rattus albinus variety were used. An experimental model of skin infection with S. aureus was undertaken. Subsequently they were treated at 4 and 6 hours after infection with Group A: Vancomycin alone, Group B: Vancomycin and L. casei 100%, Group C: Vancomycin and L. casei 75%, Group D: Vancomycin and L. Casei 50%. A sample at 8 hours after the wound is then removed and incubated in Mueller Hinton Agar plates. There were significant differences for group A and B (0.037 significance). It is concluded that Lactobacillus casei associated with vancomycin if you have synergistic effect on epidermal infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus in Rattus rattus variety Albinus Los probióticos se utilizan principalmente para aplicaciones gastrointestinales, actualmente también en piel, salud oral y vaginal. El Lactobacillus casei es un microorganismo usado como probiótico. Estudios previos in vitro demuestran eficacia del uso de L. casei asociado a Vancomicina frente a S. aureus. Se usaron 20 ejemplares de Rattus rattus variedad albinus. Se realizó un modelo experimental de infección en piel con S. aureus. Posteriormente se los trató a las 4 y 6 horas después de infectadas con: Grupo A: Vancomicina sola, Grupo B: Vancomicina y L. Casei al 100%, Grupo C: Vancomicina y L. Casei al 75%, Grupo D: Vancomicina y L. Casei al 50%. Luego se extrajo una muestra a las 8 horas de la herida y se incubó en placas con Agar Mueller Hinton. Resultaron diferencias significativas para el grupo A y B (0.037 significancia). Se concluye que Lactobacillus casei asociado a Vancomicina si tiene efecto sinérgico de sobre infecciones epidérmicas producidas por Staphylococcus aureus en Rattus rattus variedad Albinus Tesis
