International audience This article is a contribution to an issue of Viatica entitled "Ecrire le voyage à deux / Travel-writing in partnership". It investigates the writing process of "Letters from Iceland" (1937) - a parody of a modernist collage and burlesque travelogue - written by the two Thirties poets W. H. Auden and Louis MacNeice.
