Albeit in very exceptional conditions, Atlantic depressions, sometimes very intense, can affect the synoptic region of Europe, unleashing very unpleasant weather, with strong winds surpassing 58 knots and heavy rainfall. Depressions, which were previously tropical cyclones originating in the tropical Atlantic, leave these warm waters following a parabolic clockwise course, are absorbed by the circulation of the westerlies in the temperate zone and are converted into undulating depressions in the Polar Front. In this paper the trajectories of tropical cyclones in the northern Atlantic have been studied during the period 1984 to 1987. Tras las altas temperaturas y escasas precipitaciones de los meses de julio y agosto, el borde meridional europeo, caracterizado por un debilitamiento de la circulación zonal, desapareciendo en la práctica los vientos del Oeste en las capas bajas, el otoño reinicia la actividad de los westerlies, con precipitaciones copiosas. Aunque de modo muy excepcional, puede afectar al espacio sinóptico de Europa perturbaciones atlánticas, a veces muy profundas que desencadenan un tiempo muy desapacible y gran fuerza del viento, rachas superiores a los 58 nudos y chubascos copiosos. Perturbaciones que en un estadio anterior han sido ciclones tropicales originados en el Atlántico tropical que tras abandonar las aguas cálidas describen un circuito parabólico, en sentido horario, siendo absorbidas por la circulación de los vientos del Oeste de la Zona Templada, y convertidas en borrascas ondulatorias del frente polar. Se analizan las trayectorias de los ciclones tropicales en el Atlántico Norte, durante los años de 1984, ,1985, 1986 y 1987.
