Bindschalder and Scambos (1991) developed and tested a numerical cross-correlation method for measuring the velocity of crevasses and related features on multitemporal satellite imagery. This paper describes the application of the cross-correlation method to the Scott Coast (Victoria Land, East Antarctica) and in particular to the Drygalski Ice Tongue and David Glacier; Landsat images from 1973 to 2001 were used in this study.
