Et badeeventyr i islandsk natur : prosjektering av et badeanlegg i Talknafjordur

Antall turister som reiser til Island øker stadig. I 2016 kom det over 1,7 million turister til Island som har et hovedmål å oppleve islandsk natur og kultur. Dette har skapt problemer, på grunn av at infrastruktur ved mange populære reisemål er ikke laget for slik folke-mengde. Slik er situasjonen ved Pollurinn, noen små badekilder i fjellet i Talknafjordur. Badeanlegget er for lite og utslitt, og det er et stort behov for oppgrader-ing av området. Mange turister betyr ikke nødvendigvis problemer, med mange turister kommer det også muligheter for samfunnsutvikling og sysselsetting basert på reise-livsnæringen. Talknafjordur kommune strever med fraflytting av beboere og satsing på reiselivsnæringen for fremtiden kan senke eller snu slik utvikling. For å skape en stabil reiselivsnæring må både nasjonale og lokale aktører få til et godt samarbeid og fokusere på bærekraftig verdiskaping. Det må defineres hva de besøkende ønsker og har behov for, og et plan må lages for hva kan gjøres for å skape og oppfylle deres ønsker. Målsetting for dette prosjektet er å skape et bade-anlegg som kan være en viktig komponent for videreutvikling av reiselivsnæringen i Talknafjordur. Hensyn er tatt til sosiale, kulturelle, miljømessige og økonomiske aspekter for å skape et helhetlig reisemål som løfter frem islandsk natur og kultur. I nytt forslag er det lagd vekt på å utforme et spennende bade-anlegg som kan ta imot flere mennesker, tilbyr vari-erte badeopplevelser og blir et attraktivt målpunkt i fjorden for både turister og lokalbefolkningen. The number of tourists traveling to Iceland is rapidly increasing. In 2016, more than 1.7 million tourists came to Iceland, whose main goal is to experience Icelandic nature and culture. This has caused problems, due to the fact that infrastruc-ture in many popular destinations is not designed for such crowds. Such is the situation at Pollurinn, a small natural bathing spring in the mountainside of Talknafjordur. The bathing facilities are small and worn down and there is a great need for upgrad-ing the area. Many tourists do not necessarily indicate problems, with many tourists comes also opportunities for community development and employment based on the tourism industry. Talknafjordur municipality is struggling with emigration of residents. By setting the focus on increasing tourism industry for the future, such a development may be lowered or reversed. In order to create a stable tourism indus-try, both national and local actors must establish a good cooperation and focus on creating sustaina-ble values. It needs to be defined what visitors want and need, and a plan must be made for what can be done to create and fulfill their wishes. The aim of this project is therefore to create a bathing facility that can be an important compo- nent for further development of the tourism industry in Talknafjordur. Consideration has been given to social, cultural, environmental and economic aspects in order to create a coherent destination with focus on Icelandic nature and culture. A new proposal puts emphasis on creating an interesting an exiting bathing facility that can accommodate more people, offering varied bathing experiences and becoming an attractive destination in the fjord for both tourists and locals.
