| Summary: | Análisis de las actuaciones que Colombia ha realizado frente al Tratado Antártico con el propósito de convertirse en miembro consultivo del mismo, a través del enfoque que nos brinda la geopolítica, más específicamente la teoría del Poder Marítimo, el cual nos explica que todas las actividades que desarrolle un Estado en el mar para obtener beneficios políticos (interior y exterior), económicos y sociales (incluyendo las actividades científicas), conforman los Intereses marítimos de un Estado, necesarios para su desarrollo y crecimiento. Sin embargo, para que sea posible el desarrollo de actividades que se exploten y aprovechen estos intereses marítimos, se requiere de la Voluntad estratégica del conductor político de la Nación.
