description Namen diplomskega dela je prikazati napredno nameščanje Microsoft Windows 7 operacijskega sistema na osebne računalnike z uporabo Microsoft WAIK orodij. Tovrstno nameščanje pride v poštev predvsem v velikih in srednje velikih podjetjih. V manjših podjetjih pa tovrstno nameščanje ne pride v poštev, ker predstavlja večjo investicijo, seveda če gledamo na to kot: »kolikor vložimo, toliko dobimo«. V manjših podjetjih se tem investicijam izognemo z nameščanjem operacijskih sistemov na druge, za podjetje bolj ugodne in z vidika vzdrževanja lažje načine. Ti načini se še zmeraj izkažejo tako za enostavnejše kot tudi za cenejše. Kljub temu pa jih je lažje vzdrževati zaradi nekompliciranosti, kot se to pojavlja v večjih podjetjih. V večjih in srednje velikih podjetjih se sama potreba po naprednem nameščanju operacijskih sistemov pojavlja zaradi masovne uporabe računalnikov in njihove lokacijske povezanosti z drugimi sistemi. Ta podjetja so navadno razdeljena na več podružnic, ki so med seboj geografsko razdeljena, kar pa običajno vodi v oteženo nameščanje operacijskih sistemov, programske opreme in tudi posodobitev. Obenem je potrebno omeniti še zbiranje informacij o sistemih, ki je zaradi geografske razdeljenosti še toliko bolj oteženo. Pri kakršni koli napredni namestitvi operacijskih sistemov velikokrat na pomoč priskoči tudi standardizacija, ki jo srečujemo pri nameščanjih gonilnikov in potrebne programske opreme, da bo lahko sistem zadovoljivo deloval in opravljal svoje funkcije brez napak. Vse pogosteje pa se pojavlja, da večina glavnih proizvajalcev računalniške opreme (HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Dell) že v osnovi ponuja orodja, s katerimi lahko na enostaven in hiter način pridemo do enostavnega nameščanja operacijskega sistema, ki ga prilagajamo svojim lastnim željam, potrebam in ga bogatimo z izborom lastnih funkcij, dodatkov. V diplomski nalogi je predstavljena napredna namestitev operacijskega sistema Microsoft Windows 7 s pomočjo uporabe Microsoft WAIK orodij. Tako kot Windows 7 okolje je Microsoft za potrebe administratorjev v večjih podjetjih razvil posebej imenovana WAIK orodja, s katerimi se da natančno definirati in nastaviti vsako najmanjšo podrobnost, ki jo bo vseboval in omogočal nameščeni sistem uporabniku, in kaj bo sistem od uporabnika tudi zahteval. Kot primer sem izbral nameščanje Windows 7 operacijskega sistema, ki se danes v praksi pogosto uporablja, saj ga večina programov podpira in zahteva za delovanje. V prvem koraku se bomo ustavili pri sami izdelavi sistemske slike, ki jo bomo kasneje uvozili v WAIK orodja. Prikazano bo tudi posamezno nastavljanje dodatnih funkcij, ki jih bomo srečali pri izdelavi in definiranju XML dokumentov, ki so prav tako ključni del napredne namestitve sistema. Vsega skupaj se bomo lotili po fazah izgradnje, ki si sledijo v diplomski nalogi. The purpose of this diploma thesis is progressive installation of Microsoft Windows 7 operating system to personal computers with the use of Microsoft WAIK tools. Such installation is especially suitable for large and medium-sized companies. In small companies such installation is not suitable because it poses a large investment, that is under the assumption »as much as we put in as much we get out of it«. In small companies we avoid such investments with installation of operating systems in other ways that are more favourable and easier to maintain. Despite that they are easier to maintain because they are not complex as is the case in large companies. In large and medium-sized companies the need for progressive installation of operating systems appears because of mass use of computers and their location connectivity with other systems. Those companies are usually divided to several branches, which are geographically separated, which usually leads to more difficult installation of operating systems and software as well as updates. At the same time gathering of information on systems should be mentioned, since it is even more difficult due to geographical separation. With any kind of progressive installation of operating systems standardization, which we come across when installing drivers and software needed, is often of great help in order for the system to function satisfactorily and carry out its functions without errors. It has been very common lately for most major computer equipment manufacturers (HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Dell) to provide tools with which they enable us simple and fast installation of an operation system from the start. We can adapt the operating system to our wishes and needs and we can also enrich it with our own choice of various functions, additions etc. In this diploma thesis a progressive installation of Microsoft Windows 7 with the help of Microsoft WAIK tools is presented. Microsoft has developed WAIK tools especially for the needs of administrators in large companies. The tools enable us to precisely define and set up every detail which the installed system will contain and enable users as well as what the system will require from the user. As an example I have chosen installation of Windows 7 operating system, which is widely used today, since most programs support it as well as require it for proper functioning. In the first step we will focus on creation of a system image, which will later be imported to WAIK tools. Individual set up of additional functions will also be shown. We will later also see them in connection with creation and defining of XML documents, which are also the key in progressive installation of the system. We shall look at the whole process phase by phase of construction, all of which are described in the diploma thesis.
