V diplomskem delu je predstavljena problematika sodobnih mladih družin, njihov odnos do kreacije družine, vse daljša ekonomska odvisnost mladih ljudi od izvorne družine ter dejavniki, zaradi katerih se mladi odločijo za starševstvo med študijem. Poudarek je na študentskih družinah in njihovem položaju ter težavah, s katerimi se srečujejo. Podani so tudi predlogi za izboljšanje položaja študentskih družin. Z raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti ozaveščenost študentskih družin o svojih pravicah ter ugotoviti pozitivne in negativne strani starševstva med študijem. Metodologija raziskovanja: V raziskovalnem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo družboslovnega raziskovanja. Podatke smo pridobili s pomočjo anonimnega anketnega vprašalnika, posredovanega po metodi snežne kepe, s pomočjo spletne ankete. Raziskavo smo izvedli v mesecu maju 2012 med študenti - starši, študenti na članicah Univerze v Mariboru. Anketni vprašalnik je vseboval skupno osemindvajset vprašanj odprtega, zaprtega ali polodprtega tipa. Rezultati: Ugotovili smo, da so anketirani študentje - starši dovolj informirani o pravicah, ter, da nimajo večjih problemov z usklajevanjem družine in študija. Vendar se anketirani študenti strinjajo, da je potrebno ogromno usklajevanja med partnerjema, večkrat pa na pomoč priskočijo tudi starši. Sklep: Status študentskih družin še vedno ni dobil epiloga, tudi v sami zakonodaji s področja partnerskega in družinskega življenja študentske družine niso vključene nikjer. Študentske družine so prepuščene svoji iznajdljivosti in pomoči staršev. O omenjeni temi je že veliko napisanega, a se z leti ni veliko spremenilo. In a dissertation are introduced problems of contemporary young families, their attitude towards creation of family, increasingly longer economic dependence from source young family and factors which are deciding for parenthood during study. Emphasis is on student families and their position and problems, they are meeting with. There are also handed proposals for the improvement of position of student families. With research we wanted to find out, how aware are students families about own rights and what are positive or negative sides of parenthood. Methodology of research: In research part we used descriptive method of social science research. We gained data with the help of anonymous questionnaire, interceded by method of snowball, with the help of web questionnaire. Research was carried within month of May 2012 between student - parents, students on universities in Maribor. Questionnaire contained twenty-eight questions of open, closed or half open type. Results: We found out, that interviewed students - parents are enough informed about rights, and they don't have larger problems with coordinating study with personal life. However interviewed students agree, that a lot of harmonization between partners is needed in spite of this, also a grandparents comes to the help many times. Conclusion: Status of student families still didn't get of epilogue, so legislation isn't engaging areas of partnership and family life of student families in any part at all, so they are left to their ingenuity and help of parents. About mentioned theme is much written, but over the years has not changed much.
