Področja kjer se srečujemo z uporabo portfelja so različna. Kot smo že omenili, se z njim srečamo v času izobraževanja ali v obdobju iskanja zaposlitve. Velikokrat pa ga srečujemo v finančnem svetu, kjer služi kot predstavitev podjetja ali osebe. Oblika, v kateri je portfelj izdelan, je ne glede na to kakšne vrste je, v kakšne namene se uporablja in na čigavo pobudo, vedno enaka. Poznamo klasično obliko portfelja, ki je narejen v obliki vložne mape, v katero vstavljamo svoje dosežke in refleksije. Ker danes živimo v obdobju tehnološkega napredka in eksplozije informacijske tehnologije, je tudi portfelj doživel preobrazbo in njegova digitalna različica dominira nad papirno zaradi dodatnih možnosti, ki jih ponuja. Za urejanje in delo s portfelji poznamo veliko različnih načinov in orodij. Najosnovnejša delitev teh orodij je na tista, ki so namenjena posameznikom in so bolj preprosta, ter na tista, ki so namenjena uporabi znotraj ustanov in ponujajo več naprednih možnosti. Za posameznika izbira orodja ne igra neke ključne vloge, bolj pomembno je, da orodje obvlada. Na izbiro orodja, ki ga bo uporabljala neka ustanova pa vpliva veliko stvari in je potrebno pošteno razmisliti za katero rešitev se bodo odločili. Fakulteta na kateri študiram že uporablja izobraževalni informacijski sistem Moodle, zato sva z mentorjem sklenila, da bi bila najustreznejša rešitev v tem primeru, razširitev znotraj sistema samega. Prednosti razvoja razširitve znotraj poznanega sistema, je več. Najpomembnejša izmed njih je ta, da ga zaposleni in študenti že poznajo in uporabljajo. Kadar se odločimo za integracijo želene razširitve v obstoječi informacijski sistem je pomembno, da proučimo ali obstaja že podobna rešitev kot jo želimo sami. Ne sicer vedno, ampak včasih je enostavneje obstoječo rešitev proučiti in prilagoditi svojim potrebam kot začeti od začetka. Tudi, če rešitev ne obstaja je integracija v obstoječi sistem še vedno koristna in nam prihrani veliko programerskega moči, ker je mogoče ponovno uporabiti že obstoječe dele programske kode in zgrajene mehanizme. Lahko bi rekli, da je integracija v primeru obstoječega sistema nujna. The portfolio has established itself in our education as students' products or folder of achievements, but the portfolio is best described if it is seen as a collection of selected achievements from its owner, which occurred during a period of time and is tangible evidence of its progress. Areas where we find usage of the portfolio are several. As already mentioned, we are starting to notice portfolio during education or job search. However, portfolio is often encountered in the financial world, where it serves as a presentation of the company or person. The form in which the portfolio is made, no matter of it's type purposes usage or initiative it is always the same. Classic form of a portfolio is made in the form of inlay folder in which one is inserting their achievements and reflection. Because today we live in time of technological progress and the expansion of information technology, has also experienced a transformation of the portfolio and its digital form dominates the paper because of additional options that it offers. For editing and working with portfolio there have been many different methods and tools. Depending on their purpose we have two types of tools: simpler are for individuals and more elaborate for institutions. For the individual choice of tools does not play a key role, more important is that they master its usage. The choice of tools to be used by institution can be influenced by many things and decision should be examined into details. My faculty use LMS (Learning Management System) Moodle. This diploma theses are therefore oriented toward the development of Moodle's extension module. Extension of existing information system has several advantages. One of the most important advantege is that users are already familiar with it. When we decide to integrate the desired extension module in the existing information system it is important to examine whether there is already a similar solution. Sometimes it is easier to study suitable existing solutions to see if they would suits our needs rather to start from scratch. Even if the solution does not exist, the integration into the existing system is still most appropriate and saves us a lot of man power, because it can re-use existing code and methods. In our case we could say that integration to the existing system is necessary.
