| Summary: | Tako kot v vsakdanjem življenju posamezniki nenehno skrbimo za svoj zunanji videz in za vtis, ki ga bomo pustili tako na bližnjih kot na mimoidočih neznancih, se podobno dogaja tudi na spletu. Identiteti v družbi in v kibernetskem prostoru sta si torej podobni, saj je internet podaljšek našega družbenega okolja in nam tako identiteta na spletu pomaga pri oblikovanju identitete v resničnem življenju. Ponujeni sta nam dve možnosti — da poiščemo sami sebe ali pa da preprosto eksperimentiramo z različnim vlogami. Na spletu smo namreč osvobojeni družbene kategorizacije, stereotipov in stigmatizacije in lahko prevzamemo idealno podobo. In our everyday life we are constantly taking care of our appearance, and of the impression we make on the people we are close with, and also others who we meet randomly. Almost the same goes for our “online life”. The identity in the society and in the cyber space is therefore similar, because the internet is the extension of our social environment and thus the online identity helps us with the formation of our real life identity. We are given two possibilities, we can either look for ourselves or simply experiment with different roles. Online we are freed from social categorization, stereotypes and stigmatization and we can take over an ideal image. |
